Behemoth Put Fans First at Axe

Written by Monika Deviat 1 February 2010 No Comment

DSC_7260In the first leg of their Evangelia Amerika tour, in support of the recently released Evangelion, Polish blackened death metal legends Behemoth visited with fans before another slaytacular show at The Republik.

Dozens of enthusiastics showed up at Calgary’s Axe Music for a chance to meet the band and score autographs from vocalist/guitarist Adam “Nergal” Darski, bassist Tomasz “Orion” Wróblewski, and percussionist Zbigniew Robert “Inferno” Promiński. Guitarist Patryk “Seth” Sztyber wasn’t along for the meet-and-greet, but joined the rest of the group on stage before a riotous crowd.

Plagued by controversy through most of the band’s 19 years, the band has been called dangerous by some for the philosophical content in their music, despite that whole wonderful freedom of expression thing and that pesky stuff called creativity…  Any simple Google search will tell you that. But really, check out the picture with the bird and that whole “dangerous” notion just flies right out the window. Sorry guys, not to bust your image ;)
